NIGHTBITCH:
A Journey of Creative Discovery
I am a Polish-British audio-visual artist currently based in Barcelona, merging industrial soundscapes with scientific research to create immersive, sensory-driven experiences. My work explores the hidden, instinctual world of nocturnal creatures, such as bats and moths, drawing inspiration from their behaviours to craft soundscapes that evoke the unseen forces of nature. By using nature data and Python, I generate evolving audio environments that are both raw and organic. Trained in songwriting in London and Nashville, I blend storytelling with experimental sound, weaving narratives that challenge listeners’ perceptions of sound and environment.
With a background in visual arts, digital technology, and sound design, I extend my practice beyond traditional media by integrating biology and generative processes. My latest project, Symbiotic Resonance, merges living bacterial cultures with real-time generative art to explore the delicate interplay between the natural and artificial. By utilising tools such as Touch Designer, Generative AI, and Ableton Live, I transform biological data into audio-visual landscapes that evolve dynamically in real-time.
The project draws on artistic traditions like Surrealism, Dada, and Futurism, evoking parallels with early 20th-century pioneers who embraced unpredictability and emerging technologies. It also engages with contemporary bio-art, reflecting on the relationship between living systems and technology. My installations invite active participation, positioning the audience as co-creators in a living, breathing artwork that responds to both biological processes and human intervention.
By melding the organic with the technological, my practice embodies a forward-looking vision where art, science, and technology converge, blurring the boundaries between nature and machines. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Creative Technology and Digital Art at Interactive Arts & Science Laboratory (IASlab) while completing an artist residency at Nubia Labs.
